My Newest Project in Progress...
I know no one has heard from me in a while, but trust me... I'm still around! Lately, I've been working on this lion. He's quite a project as I haven't attempted painting animals in some years. This is just the basics, mind you, and not nearly finished. I've just started to add some detail and have a lot further to go. I've been a total slacker! For those of you interested, I will continue to keep you posted, and for those of you who have asked, thanks for your patience...

Thank you all for your sweet comments. All of you make me want to keep painting!! I went to the garden center last weekend and took some new pictures of flowers. Next venture is going to be a Calla Lily (yellow).
I am also going to purchase Grapes of Wrath for my Kindle... it's been a long time since I've read it and it's such a classic! Good suggestion.
Thank you all again... and thank you for following my blog! :)

What I'm Working On Now....
Okay, everybody, I've finally had the opportunity to get back to this painting! I know, I know... I've been going through a "painter's block" and have been way too neglectful. But, as you can see from my last post, I've refocused, it seems to be coming together, and I WILL get this done!

Christmas 2010
I have been blessed with a wonderful Christmas holiday season in 2010, spending time with family and friends. This year the celebration will continue through the New Year as we have more friends and family to celebrate life with. We seem to have run out of time for it all!!! For all of you that come to visit my blog, I thank you and hope that you will continue to check in. I have many projects currently in the works, with even more ideas flashing through my mind, so I will keep this updated as paintings are completed. My cat, Oliver, sends his best wishes for a blessed New Year to all!

This is a painting that I did last week for Lillian Grace English who graced our Earth recently... she is a real beauty!! This is not typically my style of painting, but thoroughly enjoyed the process. It was fun stepping out of my comfort zone and doing something different. I added iridescent paint to the fairy's wings, her dress and the butterfly.

A beautiful day...
It's hard to believe that it's already November and it's still in the 60's here in northern Indiana! I had a little fun sketching today during lunch at the park. He was a really inquisitive squirrel!

Fall is in the air...
As my friend's son was walking up the sidewalk to my house, a colorful leaf blew in front of him. He bent down, picked it up, and brought it in the house. He told me that he thought the leaf was exactly what I needed to paint! He was right... instead of painting it, though, I pulled out my Prismacolors and sketch pad and went to work. This is what I came up with ~

I had a wonderful extended weekend with the visit of my Mom and Step-Dad who came down from northern Michigan. We spent our time together enjoying each others' company as our times together are too far and too few between. Between all of the good laughs and good food, we found time to go to our local zoo and did a bit of clothes shopping, antiquing and a picnic in the park. Meanwhile, I found time to paint a vase for Mom to take home with her. It was sad to watch them leave the driveway, but the visit was a blessing and much enjoyed by all.
